Scot Schmidt Rockin’ it for the Old Schoolers
This brings back memories of sitting on the living room floor watching Scot Schmidt, the man in yellow, kill it on some K2 downhill boards.
In 1983, while living in Squaw Valley, California, and tuning skis for a living, a Warren Miller cameraman approached him and asked him to appear in what would be Scot’s first ski film, Ski Time. Hucking 60- to 100-foot cliffs with a controlled style that set him apart from other daredevils, Scot carved out a place for himself in the early days of extreme-skiing videos. He went on to star in dozens of films, including cult favorites Blizzard of Aahhs, License to Thrill and Groove.
